Around Mid-September we were given the fantastic opportunity to attend the Amazon Accelerate event in Seattle. An annual conference hosted by Amazon, it took place between the 13th and 14th at the Seattle Convention Center Summit. Sellers that are interested in or currently selling on Amazon were invited to participate giving them the opportunity to talk with one another and exchange helpful advice about selling on Amazon.
Our Managing Director, Doug, travelled all the way to Seattle to enjoy the whole event in person. From the doughnut wall to live speakers there were a wide variety of things on offer. The presentation gave insights on how we could use Amazon tools to our advantage in order to continue building upon our brand: Bloccs®. The daily general session were also helpful as they gave us an insight as to how future Amazon services will be able to assist us as sellers.
Doug had a fantastic time in Seattle having had the opportunity to connect with other Amazon sellers and gain wider knowledge about what other people experience have been when selling on Amazon. “The event had so much to offer especially with the showcasing of the latest and upcoming tools and innovations that Amazon are developing to help with the selling experience. The range of speakers and presentations meant that I could tailor my days to suit my needs making sure that I could get the most out of my experience.” – Doug, Managing Director.
The speakers were a variety of experts ranging from people who work in Amazon including the development of their tools to established sellers sharing tricks of the trade. It was a great learning experience for us.
Whilst going to the event in person was a phenomenal experience the staff left in the UK didn’t miss out! The virtual aspect of the event allowed people who couldn’t make it to Seattle to join in on the fun. There were plenty of sessions to choose from including the yoga and the general sessions. They can even be revisited whenever due to access to the on demand feature allowing those participating to get the most out of the conference.
Our Marketing Manager, Hannah, was one of the staff members who participated virtually. When asked about the advantages of the virtual event Hannah responded with “it’s a great continuous resource that I am able to do at my own pace without feeling the pressures that come from being at an event in person. We can keep going back to it as and when we need to allowing us to continue improving our presence on Amazon.”
